Autoformatting

Last night I was trying to make a very simple outline for
class. I could not get the numbers and letters to space
properly. Talk about frustration. I was so tired and so
late with my assignment and something that would be so
easy on a typewriter was painful. Word autoformatting made
this a miserable experience.

I went into the setting and deselected every
autoformatting feature. This still did not work. When I
would type, sometimes it would insert a predicted
character and indent - sometimes it wouldn't. I would try
to make adjustments by pressing the space bar a few times -
nothing! Text wouldn't move and when it did it would move
erratically!

What can I do to get rid of this auto nightmare/ Why can't
I get it to work for me when I do have it? Surely I can't
be the only person who is suffering from auto hell.

I think what you are refering to is quite easy. On your toolbar ther
is four buttons to use. One for numbering, one for bullets and th
other two for indenting.

In addition go to Format/Bullets and numbering for the differen
choices to satisfy your needs.

Do your self a favor before you attempt any other assignment. Spend a
hour to see what each button on the toolbar can do. Go t
Custom/toolbars and play with the different sets. The time spend doin
it will save you hours of frustration as you have just experienced.
