Automated Email in VBA

All,

Can anyone advise as to how you can safely get around
Outlook 2000 Macro Security?

I need to send 100's of emails out on a regular basis from
a Windows 2000, Office 2000 platform using an Exchange
2000 Server.

I've considered 'Redemption', but have been advised that
Redemption is not safe to use when Outlook 2000 has a
global address list as some VBA viruses have managed to
reference it in code.

Can anyone help?

Thanks

John

See the following link for information about administrative tools for
exchange which can provide the workaround to the Outlook Security prompt:
http://www.slipstick.com/outlook/esecup/admin.htm

As to Redemption's (or any other utility's) vulnerability to VBA viruses,
this is minimized or eliminated by installing, using and frequently updating
Anti-Virus software.

Thanks Cheryl, but I have already read much of the vast
amount of information on how to configure servers and
clients under exchange dependant on which security patches
have been applied (and been thoroughly dis-heartened by it
all).

What I'm more interested in knowing is if anyone has found
a way of sending email automatically without altering the
outlook/exchange settings(or even without using
Outlook/Exchange at all - e.g. Http mail e.t.c).

I'm hoping that there is some mail method that can be used
to send mail but does not use Exchange, and therefore does
not have access to the address lists contained (my company
has a large global address list)

I have read the information on using CDOSYS, but cannot
seem to get that to work (and cannot find any resources
explaining what would work).

Any help greatly appreciated.

It works without Outlook, but you have to know how to
code! If you're looking for a program that read your
mind and does what you want it to do, this is not for you.

Thanks for the links.

I can code, so I'll see if your links provide the
familiarity I'm looking for.

I hope you are successful in finding your mind reading
program.
