Automated Task Approval - PS2003

Greetings,

I have a situation where we would like to automate the process of
Project Manager Task Approval.

Resource Managers are set up to Approve Time using the "Resource
Manager Timesheet Approval" process new to Project Server 2003. Each
night, we would like to run a batch process that would automatially
approve those Tasks against which Resource Managers have approved
time. Does anyone have any experience with setting up an automated
back-end process to approve such Tasks?

I suppect the process will have to do the equivalent of opening each
Project, locating each Task to which time has been added (and which
also have been approved by the Resource Manager), approving those
Tasks, then closing the Project. We are in pilot mode at this time,
but the process could possiblly need to be run against many hundreds
of Projects nightly.

Along the same lines, does anyone have any exerience with the various
factors we would need to take into account when automating such a
process. Things that come to mind are:

* Time that is reported should be put into the schedule.
* Should we prevent New Task Creation (scheduling impact)?
* Should we prevent Team Lead Task Delegation (scheduling impact)?
* Should we prevent Team Member Task Delegation (scheduling impact)?
* What is the impact of changing Estimates to Completion (ceduling
impact)?

Any thoughts on the process we need to put in place to automate this
process and the impact such automation would have on Projects would be
most appreciated.

Cheers,

Wayne
