Automatic duplication of documents

Version: 2004 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) Email Client: pop If I save a document in in a folder in "Documents" I can see it when I go Finder/Documents/name of folder/name of document but when I highlight the folder's alias on my desktop the document does not show. Of course, if I go Desktop/name of folder/....... it does not show either.

Why is it not reproduced in the same folder under its alias on my desktop?
