Automatic file name on saving

My Normal.dot file has been modified somehow so that it always has a XXXX.doc
file name. It used to pick up the first few words in the document as the
suggested file name, but not anymore. How can erase the XXXX.doc file name
and restore the original functionality? I have tried to erase the XXXX.doc
file name and save the file as Normal.dot, but this hasn't worked. I have
also found the Normal.dot file and erased the XXXX.doc file name in the
properties dialog and saved the Normal.dot file, but that hasn't worked
either. I've tried to run the Word 2002 Support Template - Troubleshoot
Utility, but it doesn't run on my computer. I'd appreciate your suggestions.

The text Word picks up for the filename is the Title property. If you opened
Normal.dot, cleared that field, and saved Normal.dot, it should not be
suggesting a filename other than the first text in the doc.

Surprise, Surprise! I tried your suggestion one more time and this time it
worked! I'm not sure if it was something I did that was different this time
or gremlins in the computer playing tricks.

Thank you for your prompt help.

Who knows? As MVP Bob Buckland so memorably said, "Word rarely misses an
opportunity to perplex."
