How do I prevent Office from underlining email addresses and websites when
creating documents?

It is not always desirable to have a link to the internet or Email program.

One answer is to highlight the link, right-click and select "remove
hyperlink"...

In Office 2007 (and you didn't tell us your version) do Office Button-Word
Options-Proofing-Autocorrect Options, click on the Autoformat as you type
tab and uncheck the Hyperlink option...

I am using Office 2000. I have unchecked the hyperlink button in Word. That is working fine. The problem really is in Excel. How do I uncheck that option in Excel Office 2000?
