automatic loading of external resources

Perhaps i'm asking a lot. Is there any way, & is there anyone with the
know-how, to open a PowerPoint file which then automatically loads (imports)
various resources located in a resource folder, including .wvf video files
and text files?

I maybe mistaken, but I think PowerPoint 2003 has a media library, into
which it loads the resources. For earlier versions can it just allocate an
individual screen per resource?

Any ideas would be hugely appreciated.

Thanks,

Are you looking to

A) Pre load the presentation into memory so that it plays back smoothly in
"slideshow mode"

or

B) Have a media library on hand, that contains all your
graphics/text/video/audio for your particular presentation/project?

Sorry for delay in getting back to you.

Its B - Have a media library on hand, that contains all your
graphics/text/video/audio for your particular presentation/project? - to
speed up authoring perhaps and to make it easier for some users.

Thanks

Simon.

sm,

I prefer to just use the "folders" of a hard drive.

e.g.

c:\presentations\video
c:\presentations\sound
c:\presentations\pictures

etc

However, there are advantages to putting all your media that you are using
in the same folder as your current presentation. As it avoids problems with
linking portability...
