Automatic Page Breaks

I am working on a very important document that and when I just saved a new
version of it with today's date, it inserted an automatic page break between
basically every cell, making each cell it's own page. This workbook has 4
tabs, each tab was printable on one page, but now each tab is upwards of 100+
pages. I can't delete or move the pagebreaks because they are automatic but I
didn't do anything to make this happen. It changed on both the new and all
old versions of the document so I can't even revert back to an older version.

Please help, I'm desperate.

If something happened to your one file, then it should not have affected all
of your older versions of that file. It seems more likely that you have an
Excel setting that has changed, and it is thus affecting all workbooks. To
confirm this, create a new workbook and type random content in a few cells,
and do print preview to see if the same effect is present.

If not, the first thing I would check are your page size, and margins. If
you have huge margins or a very small page size (a typo on either one might
do it) then Excel would think it could only fit one cell before needing to
roll to another page. However, I believe that both of those are set at a
document level, so I wouldn't expect them to affect other workbooks
(including your older versions).

What version of Excel are you using? Do you have any add-ins installed (and
if so, which ones)? What are your printer settings? If you select a different
printer as your ouput (you don't have to print, just change the printer and
select print preview) does that change the symptoms at all?

If you don't see these symptoms when you create a new workbook, what happens
when you copy/paste the sheet(s) from your old workbook into a brand new
workbook? Specify each test you do, and the outcome (copy/move sheet, copy
whole sheet, copy just the used range, and for each, paste all vs paste
values).

If you do see these symptoms even with a brand new workbook, then it is
probably an Excel setting. The specific places to look may vary by version,
and with a followup post from you, the more experienced contributors in this
group may be able to give you more specific advice...

I have had the exact same problem in Excel 2010. This has happened with 2
separate files -- one created in Excel 2007, and one created in Excel 2010.
In both cases, one day when I opened up the files every single cell had been
made into its own page. I don't know how to fix it, so if you found a fix,
let me know.
