I want to set up my powerpoint presentation on a cd so
that when the cd is inserted into the cd drive it
automatically boots itself up to show a slide show
through powerpoint. How can I do that?

Yes you can, if you mean that the presentation was created in PowerPoint 97.
However, the task of creating the CD is "outside" of PowerPoint. It can't
be done in PowerPoint 97.

What you're looking for is an "autorun" feature.
That is done by having autorun.inf in the root directory.
It is a written instruction to open another file to play
the selected presentation.

This can be done for you by some programs available like
Sonia Coleman's Autorun CD. Visit www.Aladat.com to
download a trial version to see how autorun is created.
