Automatic shift schedule

I guess this must a challenging one...

Depending on the # of resources (as parameter), I need to make a weekl
schedule (all 7 days).

Say I have 8 resources, then I can make a 24x7 shift schedule with
hours in each shift. But if I have just 6 resources, I can support onl
limited time...

Having the baseline of minimum 8 hours per shift, if I give the # o
resources, I need to get a weekly schedule the best possible way.

Any inputs would be greatly appreciated.
