Automatic text block delete.

How do I configure Word 2003 so that I can delete an outlined block of text
without having to hit the "Y" for yes key after I press the delete key. In
previous versions of Word it was possible to configure the options to allow
automatic block delete of text. I can not seem to figure it out for Word
2003.
