Automatically assign next task

[Engineering]

I have an Engineering Gantt chart set up, with various tasks and departments
assigned. All of which should be notified when the previous step is
completed, so that each person can start their specific task on time, in
accordance to the time line set out. I would like to know if there is a way
to link these steps automatically, so that I don't send out emails to various
people/dept's to notify them. I know that it is possible to notify people of
deadlines automatically via reminders, however this is not my concern. I
would like to link it so that the next person/dept in the Gantt chart is
notified automatically by Project or Outlook.

Engineering --

Project Server does not work the way you specify. Therefore, I would
recommend that you set up reminders for your team by clicking the "Alert me
about my resources on tasks and status reports" link in the sidepane on the
left side of the PWA Home page. At least this way you can specify that team
members are reminded a pre-set number of days prior to the start of any
task. Hope this helps.
