automatically copy items from calendar to another

I want to merge my personal calendar with my professional calendar so that my
personal calendar include my professional meetings/appointments while my
professional (which is shared) would only show professional items.

I would like to use this "merged" calendar to synchronize with my iphone.

Is there an easy way to do it ??

Thanks

I want to merge my personal calendar with my professional calendar so that

Display the "professional" calendar in a table view like By Category, select
all the items with Ctrl-A, then click Edit>Copy to Folder and specify the
"personal" calendar as the destination.
I would like to use this "merged" calendar to synchronize with my iphone.

Most sync tools work only with the default calendar, so you'd need to treat
the default calendar as your "personal" calendar and have a second calendar
be the "professional" one. Some sync tools allow synching folders other
than the defaults. I don't know about iTunes. Read the documentation that
came with it. Outlook does not take an active role in synching. The sync
software controls it all.

Hi Brian,

Thanks a lot for the reply, it is very ueseful (and, yes, iTunes allows to
sync with a user-defined calendar, so it works).

However, is there a way to automatically copy a new item in "calendar" to my
personal (like a rule or something) ? the solution you propose works only
once if I understand (for after you run the risk of having multiple instances
of each item in the personal calendar).

Thanks in advance

There are third-party tools that can keep two folders in sync.
http://www.slipstick.com/ should have a list.
