automatically create a slide show from multiple picture files

Can you tell me if there is a way to "automatically" create a slide show from
multiple picture files in PowerPoint? Or is the only option to insert each
picture into a slide individually?

Insert a bunch of pictures using Photo Album: Select "Insert" | "Picture" |
"New Photo Album..." menu item.
