*** -- automatically created dotted lines

I'm going nuts! At one point I was using *** (which auto
formats as a dotted line) to make sessions. Now I can't
get rid of the dotted lines. HELP!

Those are not dotted lines. It is a a paragraph border.


Put your cursor above the line, then Format>Borders and Shading>Border Tab.
Check the "None" pane.
