Automating Web Design

I maintain a very large college Web site and currently utilize the Shared
Borders tool. I am very interested in keeping this feature for automatically
updating navigation, and such, but would like ot have more contorl over the
actual design of the site, possibly with Dynamic Web Templates. I work with a
wide level of users, ranging from beginners to experts. I am wondering:
1) Does DWT work with Shared Borders & allow one to lock certain shared
border areas using the editable region control?
2) Is there a way to force the DWT & Shared Borders to be used on every page
(when a user selects a new page it will automatically insert the DWT file and
Shared Borders)?
3) Are there any changes required on the server side in order for DWT and
Shared Borders to function together?

Thanks for your help!

FP2003 DWT will not auto update under the FP extensions. The auto update function only works on
Windows 2003 Servers with Windows SharePoint Services installed or when working with a local
disk-based web.

DWT are a replacement for Shared Borders.

However you can use DWT with the FP Include Page component.

Tom: Does that mean then they *will* update if it's a server based web?

The FP Include will update if you update the page that is included, however the DWT can only be
updated by opening each page individually that is using the DWT and then selecting update.

However, if users with FP2000 or FP2002 will also be working on the web with the DWT, they will not
see the DWTs, and can easily delete them without even knowing it.
