Automation of emails according to product line and sales cycle

Is there a way to automate Business Contact Manager for Outlook 2007 to email
a set of contact records every 10 days according to product interest and
according to where in the sales cycle that contact is?

I hope I’m able to put pen to paper here and explain this clearly…

The sales cycles is viewed as a Bell-Curve that begins at ‘Hello’ at the far
left of the curve to ‘Starting to think about a product and collecting
information’ as they climb up the curve to ‘Buying’ at the top of the curve
and ‘Follow-up’ items such as warranty items or asking for a reference at the
far right of the curve..

I have a set of literature for each stage of the cycle and would like to
send contacts emails that are relevant to them according to where they are in
the sales cycle. The CRM would need to track which literature was sent and
automatically move to the next email or literature as time

Generally, an email every 10 days or so is the goal to each record for each
product as applicable.

The whole system should function like this: I enter a record into the CRM
and mark it for any of several products they may need and further note where
in the sales cycle that record is for each product line.

Can you suggest an efficient way to accomplish this automation?
