AutoRecover doesn't save files

I have AutoRecovery set to save files every 10 minutes;
however, it never saves anything and I have lost some huge
reports and there is no ~wr***.tmp file, no *.asd file or
anything else. Even with power failures or simply saying
Exit at the wrong time, all of that formatted text
disappears. What happens to all of that text? Is it
stored somewhere else? Is there another option setting I
can use to make Backup copies automatically every 10
minutes? Thanks.

As a wild guess: You might check if the path for AutoRecover files (Tools >
Options > File locations) is set correctly.
