AutoRecover

We have a terminal servers with office installed. I set up autorecover and
set it up to save to their home drive. When they bring up a document the
autorecover copy is created. I can delete their session and force them out
and the autorecover goes away. Their home drive is on a seperate server.
How can I get it to save theautorecover file even if their session is deleted
or the server crashes? We use Word 2002.. Thanks

Hi Conley,

I'm not sure I'm following your scenario correctly.
If Word is closed 'normally' Autorecover (they're
not autosave) files are deleted on close.

If Word is not closed normally but you're deleting
the location of the files, there's not much Word can
do to find them. Are you pointing the autorecover
files to their hard drive in Tools=>Options=>File Locations?

Hi Conley,

Once again, please note that there is no Autosave built
into Word, only an 'on failure' Autorecover that can
be updated at fixed intervals from Tools=>Options=>Edit.

Is the Word session being closed in a 'normal' manner?
If so that will delete the Autorecover files.

Sorry, ment to say, autorecover. In testing, I am closing Word out via, end
Task or by ending a terminal server session. In any case the AutoRecover
does not work. I can watch the autorecover document on our file server being
created and when the users session crashes or I manully end task for word,
the Auto Recover document goes away also. I thought this wouldn't happen.
Maybe its a Terminal Services thing.
