Autosave closes comment editing

If I am adding a comment and autosave gets triggered, then the comment is immediately closed when the autosave is performed. I then have to click and select EDIT to continue from where I left off. I don't seem to remember it working this way with PowerPoint on Windows.

Hmm. I'm not seeing this.
I set autosave to '1' minute in preferences

I've been reviewing a lot of presentations and I use the comments to cover recommended changes.

I'm not sure I can solve your original problem, but to clarify one very
significant misconception - there is NO AutoSave feature in PowerPoint [or
any of the other apps: Mac/Win Word, Excel]. What you are referring to is
Save AutoRecover Info which is a totally separate & distinct feature. Take a
look at the following from the MS Help site for clarification:

<http://office.microsoft.com/client/...&rt=2&ns=WINWORD&lcid=1033&pid=CH100964821033>

Having it set to that frequency may be the cause of or a contributor to the
problem.

BTW - I meant to add that I believe it *is* normal behavior in PPT 2008 for
the AutoRecover process as well as a regular Save to interrupt Comment
editing. However, you need only click the Comment to resume.

Resetting the AutoRecover time frame to no less than 10 minutes should
alleviate the problem, but you may still want to use Help> Send Feedback to
lodge the point in the MS data file - fully explain why it is an annoyance &
an interruption to your workflow.
