autosave.xla is already open. Reopening will cause any changes yo

All of a sudden the other day I began to get this message whenever I opened
any Excel Document. "autosave.xla is already open. Reopening will cause any
changes you made to be discarded. Do you want to re-open autosave.xla?"

I am using Excel 2000. Can anyone help resolve this?
