Autotext not saving

Whenever I add an autotext entry it only saves until I close and re-open Word.
I have tried creating another template and creating new autotext entries but
the same happens. I have tried following previous answers to similar
questions: i.e. going to http://addbalance.com/word/movetotemplate.htm
http://www.word.mvps.org/faqs/customization/AutoText.htm
But neither helped...any more ideas?

Adobe could and should do better. It isn't that hard; if I can write an
add-in that doesn't mess up normal.dot but adds toolbars that I want, they
ought to be able to do so as well.
