After you enter a formula, you normally press ENTER to confirm th
formula. Because this is an array formula, you have to pres
CONTROL+SHIFT+ENTER. That is, while holding down the CONTROL and SHIF
keys, press ENTER. If you've entered it correctly, Excel will plac
braces around the formula, like this...

{=AVERAGE(SUBTOTAL(9,OFFSET(A1,LARGE(IF(A1:A23<>0,ROW(A1:A23)),{1,2,3,4,5})-1,0)))
