Back to Blank Slides

The line I am referring to appears only when adding
slides to an existing presentation. I can create a new
blank slide in a new presentation and when I insert it
into another presentation, the line appears. It is a
heavy black line about 1/3 of the way down the page and
across the page with a small margin at either side. Does
it have something to do with a pre-formatted
presentation? Why would anyone want a black line on a
page containing a graph or graphic?

Tom - thanks so much for the info. Sorry for long time
in replying. I forgot about it for a few days. It
worked great. But when I did the master it didn't change
the existing slides. Does the master have to be changed
before you begin making the slides? Should it have
changed all the slides once I changed the master? I
really enjoy messing with powerpoint.
