back to Office 2003

I currently have Office 2007 installed ( for a couple of weeks only),
but would really like to go back to Office 2003. Can I uninstall 2007
and re-install 2003 with no problems?? So far, I have saved all
documents in the compatible mode. And does anyone know whether a new
service pack for Office 2007 is being planned anytime soon?

Hi Archie,

Can't really 'guarantee' that any software change will have 'no problems' :)
Backup your files before proceeding, but uninstaling Office 2007, restartig the PC and repair or reinstalling of Office 2003 from CD
is usually doable. If your Office 2003 was an upgrade edition be sure you also have the upgrade qualifier product handy as well
(although it doesn't have to be preinstalled).

Office 2007 Service Pack 2 is in process, but no date for it has been given, in addition to problem fixes SP2 will add some built-in
support for Open Office (ODF) files.

Hi Archie! Do you have the trial version of Office 2007 or the regular one? I
had the trial version installed (came with a new laptop). I had no problems
uninstalling the trial version and re-installing Office 2003.

You expressed interest in a SP for Office 2007. Did you experience any
issues with Office 2007?

hth!

Thanks for the reply. I have been working on putting back Office 2003
the last couple days. It was not a trial version of Office 2007 and
there were many issues, the biggest one being they took away the
AutoComplete typing feature from Word. I tried all the other
suggestions, but not even close to the speed and productivity of the
AutoComplete. Now could you help me out with one more problem,
please.

After re-installing Office 2003, it tells me that all programs are
activated, but each time I open one, the license agreement pops up and
I can't figure out how to get rid of it. I looked on Online help and
it seems there could be a conflict in the file because of the previous
Office being there first, but I can't determine how to fix it.

Hi Archie,

Are you logged in as Administrator when accepting the agreement? The license acceptance needs to be written to the registry.
