Before rebuilding my iMac I copied the main identity folder to a back-up
disk. Reloaded the OS (OSX 10.1.5) and applications including Entourage
(10.1.1). When I replace the main identity folder with the copy I made
previously and try to start Entourage I get an error along the line that
this identity cannot be opened with this version of Entourage (Also got the
same error when I tried to open before updating Entourage from version
supplied with CD). I have tried to rebuild the database files - simple
rebuild fails and advanced rebuild appears to work - in that file size is
greatly reduced and archived olddata files appear - but still get the same
error message. Has anybody got any ideas how I can retrieve my old emails?
Unfortunately I don't recall which version of entourage was running when the
folder was copied - but as I update regularly I presume it was most recent.
(And should this be an issue anyway!)
