backing up data

how do I go about backing up the data from outlook when
my system takes a dive and I am forced to reload Windows
OS? I cannot find any information in MS help fo rthis
subject and this has unfortunately happened to me n the
past and I wish to prevent data loss in the future.? any
help is greatly taken.
