Backspace

When selecting text i.e a word, the backspace button will
not delete.

Can use backspace to go back a space and delete a single
charactor, but not a word/sentance

Is this a setting issue?

This is a settings issue. If Tools>Options>Edit>Typimg
replaces selection is not ticked, then the backspace key
will have no effect on the selected text.
