Backup and append outlook files

Kevin

Hi all

I have outlook 2003 on my company laptop and outlook 2002 on my personal
desktop. I have to turn in my laptop and would like to transfer all mail and
contacts to the desktop pc, however, I don't want to lose any of the mail or
contact info already on the desktop machine.

Both machines can be conneceted via a network cable.

Is what I want to do possible, or must I have either laptop or desktop info,
but not both, by simpy copying the pst file created from the backup utility
in outlook 2003? Can I append information to that already contained on my
desktop pc?

Please help

thanks

Depends on what format your pst-file is on the Outlook 2003 machine. When
this is an Outlook 2003 pst-file you'll need to move it to an Outlook
97-2002 pst-file first or Outlook 2002 will not be able to read it. Then
close Outlook and move the pst-file to your other computer. To connect to it
use File-> Open-> Outlook Data File... Once opened you can either leave it
in the separate pst-file or move it to your main pst-file.

For detailed steps on moving it to an Outlook 97-2002 pst-file see;
