Backup Problems and Other Questions

I have 2003 Outlook and did install the Backup Program from MS. The problem
is that I get prompted to backup when I exit Outlook but then it gives an
error message that my CD is protected and it cannot backup. How do I create
an acceptable file for backup on my CD ? Also, how can I take my contacts
with me when I travel and use them on another computer ?

You copy to hard disk then burn the copy to cd

Your Contacts are contained in the outlook data file, depends therefore
whether you mean use on someone elses PC or your own laptop.

Do you have a CD/DVD *burner* drive?
Did you insert a CD/DVD-R[W] disc in the burner drive?

What is the "Backup Program from MS"? Is that the Personal FOlders Backup
(PFB) add-on? That just makes a copy of the .pst file to the configued
target folder. It is *not* a CD/DVD burner program. Save the backup copy
of the .pst to a holding folder (in the same or different partition than the
OS partition) and then use whatever CD/DVD burner program you want to put a
copy on a recordable/rewritable CD/DVD disc.
