Balancing Coulmns

One feature I am looking forward for every new release of Office, is, making
coulmns balanced. Mostly common when I have on the first coulmn words that
are smaller (or larger) than the rest of the document, as you see, is the
first coulmn shorter (or taller) than the second.
What I need is that Word should calculate the difference of height from the
end of the coulmns to the bottom margin, and distribute that spacing beetween
the paragraphs, that way all coulmns will appear beautifuly equaly balanced.

Did you ever think to type the words "balance columns" into the Help
search box? In Word 2003 that leads to the topic "Balance
newsletter-style column length on a page". It explains that you
balance columns by inserting a continuous section break at the end of
the text. That method has worked at least since Word 6.0.

Thank you and I'm sorry, I didn't mean excactly that, this method I did know
already beforehand. What I did mean is excactly what I wrote, and I'll say
more, let's say you have 20 pages of coulmned text mixed with all kinds of
fonts and sizes, the coulmns of the pages are not balanced, because on one
coulmn there could be smaller sizes and on the other coulmn larger sizes, so

Have you tried using the Justify setting for vertical alignment (File | Page
Setup | Layout)? Most of the time I don't think the results are anything
anyone would want, but it's worth a try.

Yes, I forgot to write it, I did use the Justify feature, but there is a
problem with it, EVERY paragraph gets spaced before or after, and I do want
some paragraphs together. Thanks.
