Hi, Stan,
You say you have a "bar" chart, but do you really have
a "column" chart? there's a difference in how to put
you X-axis values... IN the column chart (bars are
naturally vertical), you can select the series tab
from the "source data" option (right click on your
chart and select this); on series tab, at the bottom
either enter the cells that are your years or click
on the colored grid which takes you to the spreadsheet
itself, and then select your year cells.
If this doesn't help, repost.

show what each bar represents. I've searched and can't
find anywhere I can put a value for the x axis. Can
