Hi,
I have been using access 2000 as a front end for sql
server for about a year with no major problems. I would
like to bring barcoding into our applications. Has anyone
had any luck with using brcode to speed up data input,
into access if so how how did you get the scanner to link
up with the access database. If anyone also has any
pointers to get me going in the right direction I would
greatly appreciate the help. I would like to create an
access application the can do inventory. Any Ideas???

Many barcode readers plug in via the keyboard connection and to *any* Windows
application the scanned data looks exactly the same as if it were typed on the
keyboard making special programming unnecessary (beyond error checking,
validation etc.).

Thank you for the reply.Do you mean that the physical
scanner would have a cable that splits into the keyboard
input so you could type or scan?

.

You can also get the barcode fonts as True-Type so you can
print barcodes that can be read by any scanner on your
reports etc.
