Baseline a resource, but not the date?

Is there any way to baseline a MATERIAL resource cost on a task, bu
keep the original baseline start/finish dates (even if the dates hav
since changed!)?

Thank you

I'm aware of the Baseline Cost field. Unfortunately, entering a ne
baseline cost there will not re-baseline the cost: it does not roll u
to summary tasks, and if you attempt to baseline after enterin
something here, it will simply be overwritten with the value in the Wor
or Actual Work field

Hi,

If you want to completely avoid Project to baseline a field, better to not
use the baseline field but a custom Duration field (whoich cn be made to
rollup)

Thank you,

One way is to:
1. Capture the current Start and Finish dates
2. Then change the start and finish to the old baseline dates
3. Change the units to the new value so that the cost equals what yo
want the new baseline cost to be.
4. Set the baseline on the selected task and be sure to check the bo
to roll-up to summaries.
5. Change the Start and Finish dates back to the original values

If this task has an actual start or if there is predecessors that driv
the start date, you will have to record what the actuals are and remov
the link before doing the above steps. Then reset those values
