Baseline dates in PWA task view

My project managers want to show baseline dates in the PWA
task view so that people understand when a date has
already slipped. Otherwise they believe they are still on
plan. I tried to customize the Assignment view through
the Admin tab but it did not work.

Any suggestions?

If you are using Project Server 2003, you will need to log into PWA and
click Admin - Manage Views. Select the Timesheet view and click the Modify
View button. dd the Baseline Start and Baseline Finish fields to the view,
and then reorder the columns into the desired order. Click the Save Changes
button.

Whether you are using Project Server 2002 or 2003, you will need to ask each
of your project managers to open EVERY one of their projects and do the
following:

1. Click Tools - Customize - Published Fields
2. Copy the Baseline Start and Baseline Finish fields to the list on the
right
3. Click the Set as Default button so that all new blank projects will
contain these fields
4. Click the OK button
5. Click Collaborate - Publish - Republish Assignments
6. Click OK

This series of steps will "push" the Baseline Start and Baseline Finish
values for every assignment to each user's timesheet in PWA. Beyond this, I
would recommend that you also add the Baseline Start and Baseline Finish
fields to every one of your organiation's enterprise project templates using
steps 1-4 only. Hope this helps.

The Admin can go to Views in PWA and update the timesheet view to
include the baseline fields. Then, the project manager needs to
publish those fields. He/she does this in Project Pro by going to
Tools > Customize > Published Fields. Select the Baseline fields you
want published in the Task (Timesheet) view.
