Baseline work not showing in Project Center view

Hi,
We are using EPM 2007. Some of our projects that have been baselined show
the baseline work in the customized project center view and some don't. Is
this another one of those glitchy things with customized views? All the
projects are baselined and the baseline work shows when the work plan is
opened in MS Project. I can't figure out why some of them show the field in
the view and some don't.
TIA

Hi Teresa,

The first thing that springs to mind is "under which baseline have the
projects been baselined? Remember you can have 11 different baselines. If you
only show baseline in the Project Center but baseline your projects in
Basline 1 that may be the reason why some show up and others dont.

You may want to check and let me know if this is the reason
Thanks

Thanks for answering. All the projects have been baselined under Baseline
only. None of them have used Baseline1 - 11.

Hi Teresa,

hmmmm that is strange. I have not experienced your issue before. Generally
once a Project is baselined the values appear in the Project Center. Can you
please check in the Queue if you have any outstanding tasks that have not
been processed. It would also be helpul if you could check the event log of
the server where Project Server is intsalled to see if there are any error
that may explain your issue.

If you could check and get back to me, I will try to assist you in resolving
the issue

There are no errors outstanding. I've searched everywhere I can think of on
the server and by opening the projects in question and comparing them to the
ones that do show and I can't find the problem.
Thanks for helping.

We first spotted this issue Summer 2007 and requested a hotfix from
Microsoft. This was delievered In April 2008. It works with SP1 server & is
a modified stored proc. You could ask Microsoft for this.

It fixed the following.
If a user did not update the baseline by going Tools | Tracking | Set
Baseline but rather updated the value directly into the baseline (eg finish)
column in a view then this data was neither saved or published to the server.
It is confusing because it is saved to the local cache version, and
therefore when a user does eventually use the baseline dialog box. the whole
baseline column is then published, so it was tricky to diagnose.

Good news Richard, having said this from what I understand you manually
overwrite baselined data. It doesnt surprise me that you dont see the
overwritten values in PWA. The proper way of baselining is to re-baseline via
Tools ..... etc.
Anyway, the problem seem to be resolved.
