Basic Info about Groove

Zul from KL

Dear All,
I just joined this Forum today. Need some basic info from Groove
users/experts out there for below queries:

1. Where do all of the Groove data is being stored? For example, if I save
word files in my groove workspace (version 2007) then where it is being
saved? in Groove server somewhere? in my Laptop C drive? in Microsoft server?
2. Why the size of a given Groove workspace is not the same if I check it
from the Lauchbar or Groove folder inside the given workspace (via right
click on the properties
3. How to convert a person with workspace 'Paticipant role' into a 'manager
role' if there is no longer 'manager role' that can do it for that particular
workspace (guys left the company already)
4. What happen if someone gets 'suspended' by Groove system and hence there
is a red color triangle next to his name in the system. What cause he gets
suspended.

Thanks guys for helping me on this issue. Regards

Hi Zul,

I have some answers to your questions:
1) the data is stored on your c: drive. Look in your current logged on
profile folder under Local Settings / Application data / Microsoft / Groove
The relay server only stores packets awaiting delivery, not full workspaces.
2) Don't know the answer to that one - my Groove Client is only showing me
the properties of the files tool from the workspace menu - perhaps that is
the difference in size - the whole workspace vs just the files tool
3) If you archive the workspace, then restore it again, you will be a
manager. You then need to re-invite everyone to it. You will need to delete
the original workspace on each machine, if they are all participants. Make
sure there are 2 managers next time !
4) People get suspended because they are not online in Groove frequently
enough.
You will need to uninvite them, and invite them again.

Hope this helps ...

Hi Nigel,
Thanks for the reply. I guess you are refering to non-Vista machine when
talking about viewing the Groove data on C drive. Actually, I am using a
vista machine and unfortunately i cannot find the path Local Settings /
Application data / Microsoft / Groove given byyou earlier. Do you know how to
find it by using Vista machine?

Hi Zul,

Make sure you have hidden files and folders viewable. To do this, open up
Windows Explorer and click Organize > Folder and Search Options > View.
