Hi:
I am trying to get a bat file to copy an autocorrect list and
normal.dot from a mapped network drive when word starts up. it seemed
like it was working when I set it up, but it hasn't worked since.
When I put the bat file in the startup folder of the start menu, it
works fine when the user logs in, so I know the file is ok. Then I put
the bat file in the /user/application data/microsoft/word/startup
folder, but it doesn't run when word fires up. I also verified that
the startup folder is the correct one under tools=>options=>file
locations. I would prefer this to work so the user doens't have to log
out in order to retrieve a new autocorrect list/normal.dot file, if
they could just restart word, that would be better.
I came across an article that implied that only templates get read from
the startup folder, if this is the case, then that would explain why a
bat file won't work. Can someone point me in the direction I need to
be going for this to work, please?
