I had to restore my bcm07 database after relocating it on a new computer. I
did not get any of my Task List. How can I also back-up my task list so I
can restore if lost or moved?

MChiles:

Your task list is stored with your Outlook PST or OST file. Same with
appointments and email. Once you restore that, you'll get the rest of
your data.

Ok. Another question. We have the database shared among 3 computers. The
problem is that the follow ups, tasks, calendering is not being shared to the
client computer. Also, taks/calendar changes on the client computers are not
showing up on the main computer holding the database. Any ideas on how we can
get this working? We think it was working at a previous time but after moving
and then restoring the database it does not work. Please advise.

If you want to share Outlook items, the typical answer is to use an
Exchange server. There may be other solutions out there.

I can click on a contact and create a new task or call appointment for that
contact. Then it creates an appointment in my calendar. So you are saying the
only way to share that new appointment is to have an exchange server and that
that functionality is not built into the BCM database?

That's correct. BCM links a BCM object (e.g. a Business Contact) to
Tasks, Appointments, e-mails, etc., in Outlook. There is no BCM
Calendar or BCM e-mail. So, it the Outlook item is not present, then
BCM can only show what information about that item was stored in the
BCM database, and not the original item itself.
