BCWP not equaling BCWS for complete tasks

hi,

when I click 'analyse timescaled data in excel' the BCWP for completed tasks
is not equal to the BCWS. This is thne having a nock on effect to my CPI and
SPI.
It may be irrelevant, but although I am using project server, the project
plans were created some tme before we encouraged the use of individuals
submitting actuals via timesheets. therefore, the tasks in question have been
marked as complete byself in project server rather than by the individual
booking to the task.
Im using physical % complete in earned value analysis.
any help anyone can give would be much appreciated

This will occur when tasks are completed with less effort than planned.

Ie

Task/Assignment of 8 Hrs
Resource enters 6hrs actual work with 0hrs remaining work.

Does this fit with your scenario ?

Hi Paul,

yes this is the exact scenario. However, surely in this instance, for a
completed task, the ACWP should be the cost for 6 hours but the BCWP (i.e.
the value earned in completing the task) should be the cost for 8 hours an
should ewual the BCWS??

Is the status date in the plan before the finish date of the task ? If so,
this will would explain the difference as BCWP is only calculated to the
status date, whereas BCWS calculates the value to the end of the task.
