Been waiting to upgrade from Leopard to Snow Leopard

Hello Folks:

I¹ve been waiting to upgrade my Macs (all running 10.5.8) to Snow Leopard;
waiting to see most major issues in Office for Mac 2008 get resolved. So,
does anyone have a resource you can point me to that lists possible issues
and steps I should take to make this upgrade as smooth as possible?

Thanks Much!

I've been using Snow Leopard since day 1 and haven't had any problem
(after resolving the duplicate and corrupted font issues in Snow
Leopard - but that's always sonthing to watch anyway)

Thanks Corentin:

What should be the best order for the upgrade?

1) Upgrade to Snow Leopard,
2) Apply updates for Snow Leopard (10.6.2?),
3) Do the Font cleansing?
4) Launch Office for Mac 2008 Update and apply?
5) etc.?

Just looking for the correct order. Doing things out-of-order can be
disastrous sometimes.)

Thanks,
Kevin

I would clean-up fonts after installing Office since it installs some
fonts the System already has too (and Apple's fonts are the newest now).

Install all the System updates, then Office, all the Office updates,
then use Font Book to identify duplicates and corrupted fonts (but
clean up the mess manually in the Finder - don't trust Font Book)
Then use Onyx to trash all font cache and reboot.
Then you can launch Office :)

Corentin:

Do I have to re-install MS Office for Mac 2008 from scratch OR can I just do
an MS update once my OS is upgraded to Snow Leopard. I am not planning on
installing a clean install of Snow Leopard, I plan to upgrade from 10.5.8 to
Snow Leopard.

Is this doable?

Thanks,
Kevin

Well in theory you could simply leave Office 2008 as is when you
upgrade, but the process doesn't import previous .pkg for third party
installers, etc, so it might be safer to completely reinstall.
