Benchmark for Project Plan archive process once at 100%

We have been running 2002 for about a year and have many
projects that are now closed out at 100% completion. I'm
interested in what your achive process is for these
projects.

After much research I get the impression that these
projects are just removed to some drive. I was thinking
of creating another instance and relocating the project
and the STS to the "Archive Project Server Instance".

Let me know your thoughts.

We have a two step approach.

1) We have created an OLAP cube called Archived_year. We
then at the end of year build the cube.
a) This cube is never rebuilt or updated

2) We then save the plans to an archival folder

3) Delete the plans from the production server.

With this scenario if we need high level information for
historical analysis it can be obtained through the
Portfolio Anlyzer by connecting to the appropriate cube.

If details of the plan are needed it can be opened from
the archival folder
