Besides tracking, how can I tell an email was read?

I have my tracking options set to Read receipt. Is there another method I
can use to be able to tell if an email has been read?

yes, that would be the simplest way.. but I need to document, in order to
cover my a _ _ that the person did receive my email.

Realistically, there's no physical way to prove a recipient reads his or her
mail. The best you can do is prove SOMETHING opened the message (and that
something could be a program and not a person) and then only if the
recipient's PC allows whatever method you choose. Some mailers, for
example, try using web beacons in the messages in an attempt to have the
recipient's mail client to report when a message is opened. A properly
configured PC won't honor those, either.

Thank you. I thought I remembered a long time ago... maybe an earlier
version of Outlook that I could click on Properties for the email I had sent
and view recipients who had read the email... I appreciate your reply... have
a great holiday season.
