Best Practice for Sharing files saved Offline

As a Project Manager, I have saved a file Offline and now
I want to share this file with other Development Managers.

What is the best practice for sharing this Offline
project.

Do I save it as a file and email it to all the teams and
then try to encorporate the changes. Any recommendation
on tracking these changes ?

Or do should I use the Routing Slip and send a single file
to each Dev Manager for their review. The file would then
be routed around to each manager and returned to me to
update.

The changes would then be saved to the offline copy.
Log back onto the server and then save all Offline changes
back onto the server.

What recommendations does anyone have on best practices for
sharing files between Managers. This task occurs mostly
during the Planning phase of the project. And many Dev
Managers do not have accesss to the MSProject Client.

I believe a better approach would be to provide each development manager
with Microsoft Project Professional, and then ask them to open and edit the
project directly through Project Server. You can coordinate the times when
you want them to work on the project, since only one of you will be able to
have the project open in Read/Write mode at any one time.

I believe your approach in working with offline projects is wrong and could
lead you to all kinds of grief. Offline files are not meant to be used the
way you are describing. Rather, they are meant for you to use when you are
away from your corporate network but still need to work on your project.
And by the way, an Offline file is not the same as an .mpp file. Perhaps
the others will have some ideas for you also. Hope this helps.
