Best way to delete/re-import a project plan

All,

I have a project plan that has so many unique problems that I have concluded
that the plan file is corrupt. What is the best way to delete the project
from the server and reimport it, in order to keep as much information as
possible, such as team member updates, etc.?

Thanks,

Hi Marcus,

If you have a old backup in which you think that this project is not
corrupt. You can bring this project back using Single project restore tool
from Microsoft.

Otherwise best option is save that project as file (.mpp). Make a backup of
Project Server Database > Delete the project from Project Server > Use the
fuction import project to Enterprise > Follow the wizard > Map the resouces >
Once the import is finish you will be asked to publish the project > Click on
Collaborate > Re-publish assignments > Click on Overrite actuals (ONLY IF YOU
WANT TO BRING THE ACTUALS TO PROJECT SERVER)

Thanks

I hope this helps.

I had to do this too. I also had to deal with switching the Managed
Time Periods on and off again to overwrite actuals. However, after
doing this, I have a remaining new problem: Everyone on the project I
deleted now has their correct actuals for previous periods, but all of
their prior periods now show "unsubmitted timesheets" for everyone with
tasks on that assignment-- even though they have actuals that show up
in PWA and Project. Is there a best way to correct this problem, and
is there something I can do differently to prevent this problem in the
future?

Thanks,

David
