beta 2 techinical release compatibility mode

i have just downloaded the beta 2 techinical release and I'm now unable to
open documents in other word formats and I can not find a way to turn on the
compatibily mode? any help would be greatly appreciated

If you have Norton installed, then uncheck the Office Plug-in in Norton's Options.
