Better ClearType support for CRTs

M

MrMattman

I love the new display of fonts, and how the default is ClearType in Office
2007. Though I found that on my CRT the text is sometimes irregularly
pixelated, and PowerPoint is often the worst offender. It looks very ugly,
and can detract from the experience in my presentations, so if this could be
upgraded, I'd very much appreciate it.

ClearType does it's best on LCD screens, bit less good use on CRT...

you could also try using the cleartype tuner powertoy for windows xp, it
might improve quality (I don't have a CRT to test it on, though) it shows
significant improvement on LCDs

Hi Mattman,

Be sure to send your feedback on this directly to Microsoft using the Office 2007 feedback tool from the link below. It can include
a screenshot of what you're seeing along with your comments. Mention the version of Windows, monitor/graphics card you're using and
the screen resolution as well.

The Cleartype tuner that Kip mentioned is available, along with more information on Cleartype fonts, from the MS Typography/Fonts
page at
http://microsoft.com/typography/
