billing people

I'm quite new to MS project and project server, but i seem to be doing
well in all but one thing. I need to associate projects, and also a
task group, or a task to a particular person, or GL for billing. Often
different parts of projects i manage have different people paying for
different parts of these. What is the best (or only) way to achieve
this in MS project?

You'd use custom fields at the project, task or resource level to specify the
appropriate billing code. These can be either a lookup table or free text
field.

Server 2007 also introduces Resources Cost Centres & Budget Resources which
may help in your scenario.
