Black Bar

I transfered a Word Document from my Laptop to my
Desktop. When I opened the document on my desktop there
was a black bar (roughly 2 inches high spaning the width
of the page). Because of the bar I was unable to view the
text. I could change the view to Normal, Outline, or
Document view and the bar would be gone; I could clearly
see the whole document. But in Layout or Web view the bar
was there. I'm able to type like normal, I just can't see
anything were the bar is. Can't seem to get rid of it.
Tried retyping the whole document but got a certian point
and the bar just poped up. The document contains bullet
and numered formatting.

Any suggestions?

Assuming that when you tried to retype the document, that you did it
in a new fresh blank document created from the normal template...
Rename the normal template and let Word create a new one.
