Black screen when inserting MPG

When I insert a MPG video, I get the black screen. The video plays but I am
unable to see the first frame of the video as I am scrolling through the
presentation. This has never happened before. What can I do?

I don't mean this in a smarty sorta way so please forgive me. I always
believe in starting with the obvious first. Did you really look at the
clip closely? Does it start with even a split second of a black frame?

Keep in mind that you can always capture the first "visible" frame with
your video software or snag it, and lay it precisely over the black
frame in your video player in Powerpoint. Set it ( the image) to fade
out after the action of the player starting and you'll get a neat
effect.
